FDR home Hyde Park, New York

The two real photo postcards I believe date sometime between 1945 and 1950. I conclude this because the photos were taken inside FDR’s home which became a National Historic Site in 1945 and the Ekc stamp box was in use from 1930 to1950.

Early 1900 Football Team, Maybe Furman University

I think it may be a Furman University football team. The old postcard was a flea market find. There is an F on the uniforms, and it was found in Greenville SC. All the other cards in the same box were local to South Carolina. The AZO stamp box indicates that the photo was taken some time between 1918 and 1930. Noticing that the card is not postally used, I assume it was a keepsake for someone on the team or a family member. Do you recognize any of the faces or maybe the building where the photo was taken? Please help me identify this team.

Valentine postcard of the West Highland Hotel

This card published by Valentine dates between 1937 and 1947. I compared the photo with the one on the internet (West Highland Hotel). It appears that the hotel is still in operation and looks as if some of the original structure remains.

Crawfordsville, Georgia 1910 Postcard

Incorporated in 1878, Crawfordsville was named for U.S. Senator William H Crawford. Its population in 2000 was 572. I don’t know its population in 1910 when the postcard was postmarked. I find it interesting that the card was mailed to a small town that was only five miles away. There are some things that you can’t make out from the scan. The sign on the top of the first building on the right says Bank of Crawfordsville. The next sign just above where the people are standing says Melton’s Pharmacy. Next to it says Dry Goods, Millinery, Clothing, & Shoes. The domed building on the far left is the Taliaferro County Courthouse. It must be a beautiful little town because in 2002, the movie Sweet Home Alabama was filmed there.
