Royal Poinciana Hotel

Henry Flagler opened the Royal Poinciana hotel in 1894, but only 17 guests turned out for this fabulous hotel and its 540 rooms. By 1901, it was the largest hotel in the world with 1100 rooms and three miles of hallways. It had become the winter retreat for the elite.
