Political tensions were clearly stressed between two great world powers as the United States led 64 other nations to boycott the 1980 Olympics being held in Moscow. Even so it did not appear to stop amateur radio operators from contacting each other.

1958 BRUSSELS EXPO QSL CARD

According to sources on the internet, on May 11, 1958 the national station of the UAB (Belgian amateur radio society) transmitted from the exposition for the first time. Willy Acke ON4AW created this special QSL to celebrate the event ( the second card ON4LB0). I suspect that the other QSL card was also used by operators during the expo to confirm contacts from that station.

QSL Card

I realize that this is not a QSL card in the true sense, however I believe it was used to confirm a radio contact between him and K2SFA who was a ham radio operator. One thing I like about this card is that it has a stamp (Scott number 454) and a coin from the country of origin. The stamp and coin are from 1967.
